How does a collaboration scent work?

Kait works with creators to bring their scent idea to life! Love oranges? We got you. Is your stream centered around milk? We can do that. Have a funky idea for something completely new and unique to you? EZ. Some creators know exactly what they want, and some aren't quite sure what the possibilities are. Both are totally fine!! We can work with you to create exactly what you have in mind or help you craft the perfect idea based on you and what you love!

Collaborations are prioritized for creators who are already an active ambassador and active in the Kosmic Kandles community/partner channels. 
As Kait says, "Life is more important than candles", so there will be some exceptions and collaborations handled on a case-by-case basis.

Do I have to pay for a collab?
We never thought this was something we'd have to say, but NO. We will never ask you to pay a fee to work with us. We will never ask you to pay for us to profit off of your IP and likeness. There are no payments associated with being a brand ambassador or having your own collaboration scent, EVER!

Do I have to pay for my samples of my collaboration scent?
NOPE! When Kait is done crafting a few samples for you to try based on the ideation between Kait and the creator, a package with sample scents is sent free of charge to the creator for testing. The creator then has time to spend with each sample, fully experience the scents while hot & cold, and can provide feedback to Kait for the final selection or any adjustments to the scent they'd like to see. Kait will be fully transparent with expectations on both ends and ensure the experience is a fun one!!  Once your scent is finalized and a label is designed, a finalized glass candle will be sent to the creator free of charge. 
These costs are on us and budgeted as best we can. 

We currently do not send additional candles to the creator free of charge after the initial package, but DO include extra goodies and stock of the creator's scent in packages if an order is placed. If a creator ever has an idea they want to execute and wants their candle sent for free, there is an opportunity to make it happen on a case-by-case basis. 

How long is the process for a collaboration scent?
There's a minimum of 3 months turnaround from start to finish. This can vary depending on scent availability, seasonality, creator feedback, and any changes made in the process. Delays can happen and we're a one-woman show over here, but those delays are always communicated and transparent throughout. 

When are collaboration scents available?
Our collaborations are available seasonally in 4-6 month windows, varying on activation. For example, let's say a Spring collaboration goes live on May 1. That scent lives on the site for 4-6 months, and is put out of stock after then. This keeps our SKU numbers and order fulfillment times down, as well as helps us offer more collaborations year-round!
When Spring rolls back around the following year, the scent is restocked! Want your scent available out-of-season for a special event? Let's do it! Limited-time restocks are fun and helps drive hype to the product too! This is only an example, but hopefully explains the process a bit.

What do I get if I have my own scent?
In addition to the samples and final candle, when done, creators with their own scent get:

• 10% royalties on all sales of their scent, regardless of code use
• Permanent placement on the collaborations page of the site (if an active ambassador)
• Professional photos of your products
• Products brought to IRL events when in season
• If ordering anything, Kait includes goodies of the creator's scent in packages often! We gotta keep you stocked<33
