The Office of the State Fire Commissioner claims candles cause an estimated 15,600 fires in residential structures, 150 deaths, and over $539 million in estimated property damage each year. 

There are numerous steps you can take to ensure your family, pets, and home are safe all while enjoying a Kosmic Kandle. The first and easiest thing you can do? 

Trim your candle wicks. 

Candle wicks can be trimmed with scissors, nail clippers, and wick trimmers that are specifically angled to fit inside a candle jar. 

When do I need to trim my wick?
Your Kosmic Kandle will come pre-trimmed to the appropriate length for your first burn. Other brands might not set you up for the same first burn success that we do, so be sure to check that your wick is at an appropriate burning length of 1/4 of an inch (or about 6mm). 

From there, you will need to trim your wick before every burn.
