Uppity influencer Poppy Winfield...yes THAT Winfield, of the Winfield family, who all work in the restaurant business and own multiple 5 star spots across the US. But Poppy isn't at all like the persona of her social media accounts or even like her family. Her struggles with ADHD had her chasing the shadow of her successful older sister and never quite succeeding, all while being looked down on by her family for her 'hobby' of social media.
Then there's Jack Hartman, a hard-ass high profile chef who just got fired from the restaurant Poppy's father owns...because he's been showing up drunk (if at all).
These two find each other at a time when they're both grasping for meaning in life and the slow burn along with it was so so fun to watch unfold.
The ADHD rep in both of the characters and how they learn to work together with their diagnosis' was superb.
I didn't love Poppy's character at first, pretty much hating how pompous and aloof she came off...but I think it was done really well and intenti0nally so we could see Poppy the way others perceive her. Once we get to know her and even when she gets to know herself more, we understand her and I pretty much fell in love with her along with Jack.
